We try to make an annual visit to see family in Germany. This year COVID made it challenging. However we did prevail and manged to muddle our way through the bureaucracy and get there.
Flight schedules were all over the place this year, and not the norm by any means. cancelled flights, rerouted planes, all due to short staffing and restrictions. Fortunately we only had one extended flight delay but nothing to deter our trip.
The main idea this trip was family. We spent the time with family and doing chores around the house. A few day excursions but nothing to keep us away from family for very long.
Germany like most other countries is trying to manage the crisis, and prevent the spread. But like all other countries it is an uphill battle. Some things work, others do not. Mask mandates, proof of vaccine, all in the name of prevention. Misinformation abounds, so one is left not knowing what the current rules are. We were all vaccinated, and wore our masks to err on the safe side of things.
The time spent with family was worth all the hassle and risk. We took measures to stay COVID free, and were able to enjoy each others company.

We were able to see all our favorite spots around town.

Of course we over indulged in the local cuisine đŸ™‚

And Family & Friends. We enjoyed their company and they indulged us.
